Born and raised in Toronto, I started taking pictures with my Kodak brownie camera at around the age of twelve. I still have that camera and many of those early black and whites from class outings and summers at the cottage in Parry Sound.
Quite a few cameras later, I currently use a Sony Cybershot DSC-HX200V, which is a great camera for travel. I prefer it to a DSLR because of its compact size. It has a 30x optical zoom plus a host of automatic and manual options. It has a great handgrip and is easy to frame images using the high definition display, which can be rotated to use at waist level as well as overhead.
My partner Jon and I have a real passion for travel. We’re fortunate to get away two or three times every year and have managed to visit many parts of the world. I think of my style as rather romantic as I search the world for beautiful images to capture.
I am interested in structures both manmade and natural and enjoy the beauty of nature whether shooting landscapes or the intricacy, colour and texture of the rose.
